THE CONSECRATION OF SANCTUARY
On the 1st of May, 1061, Pope Nicholas II consecrated the Sanctuary and conceeded the Plenary Indulgence at all who visited the Sanctuary on the 15th of August or the 1st of May. A painting of G. Diano demonstrates the legend told. A paper written in gold, descending from the sky onto the newly-consecrated altar tells that Jesus wants the Plenary Indulgence for all who visit the Sanctuary on those dates.
